Photographer Petr Kulhánek (born in 1965) is devoted to documentary and portrait photography.

His work fits in the genre of real life reportage photography. The pictures capture people and moments that catch the photographer’s attention at the specific moment and place. In his portfolio we can find photographs showing situations on concert and theatre stages, as well as photographs of a completely ordinary nature, created during observation of everyday life in the photographer's surroundings.

Between 1984 and 1989 he presented three exhibitions in Brno. After that he lived in France for several years and stayed silent for the world of photography. He resumed his photographic work after returning to the Czech Republic. His archive photos began appearing in Brno's Saturday MF Dnes supplement. The photographs of Petr Kulhánek appear in Jana Soukupová's book "Štatl za Husáka", in Lenka Zogatová's monograph "Ochotnický kroužek" and also in Břetislav Rychlík’s documentary for ČT Art "Fenomen underground".
